Book Review: Last Breath by Karin Slaughter

When a young teen reaches out for help, Charlie cannot say no. The teen lost her mother to a horrible car accident and has been entrusted into the care of her grandparents, who are eating away at her trust fund. Charlie, who also lost her mother to a horrible act of vengeance, is now a lawyer and has the power to help this young girl. But nothing is as it seems and there are moving pieces that Charlie can’t see.

With the usual great storytelling, Slaughter paints a horrible picture and turns the table on us just when we’ve figured out the mystery. This is a page-turner that fans of Will Trent and all the other characters of Karin Slaughter will love.
