When Richard, a teacher, convinces a former student to walk away from the school, saving hundreds from the bomb strapped to his chest, he is lauded as a hero in the community and in the media. But it brings a threat from someone who recognizes him and warns that he is ready to go public with past secrets. That Richard had molested him as a student.
As his life falls around him, Richard must discover who is trying to blackmail him and why. Is it a case of mistaken identity or just for the money?
Barclay gives us a real twister of a story, with many suspects and more secrets. You will have to read to the last pages to understand who the real culprit is and if Richard can survive the truth. Great Canadian author.
Highly recommended.
