While blueberry picking, Cork’s grandson stumbles over a shallow grave of a missing native girl. The police aren’t interested because they are searching for a rich white girl. Cork and his son-in-law Daniel, a newly appointed Tribal police officer, refuse to ignore that another First Nations girl has disappeared and then been murdered. But as the search continues, it becomes clear that the killer is trying to silence Cork’s grandson.

The story looks hard at the murdered and missing women and girls that are plaguing First Nations both in Canada and the United States and the indifference law enforcement looks at these types of crime because of racism. Another excellent instalment in the Cork O’Connor series.
