Tom Clancy Act of Defiance by Brian Andrews and Jeffery Wilson - Jack Ryan #19
The world fell in love with Tom Clancy with his first novel, The Hunt For the Red October. Now, long after his death, comes a sequel that the equal to his best-selling novel.
In Russia, a quiet take over by old-time Communist leaders set a devastating plan in place that will cripple America and restore Russia to the world power she was before the Iron Curtain came down. A newly renovated submarine with brand-new high tech, long-range nuclear-tipped torpedoes steams for America’s eastern seaboard in mission that will take out the majority of the American fleet.
Jack Ryan is now the President and must rely on his top people, including his daughter, Katie Ryan, Lieutenant Commander, U.S. Navy, to find and destroy the threat. But how do you find a submarine that was designed to be invisible?
I remember both the book and the movie and although incredibly exciting; I believe that this sequel is even more exciting. At least the stakes are much higher. As a member of the International Thriller Association, I recently got to sit in on a webinar with Brian Andrews and learned about the story. Johnson’s credentials speak for themselves as he is a former Submarine Commander and brings so much to the story.
Easily my best read so far in 2024.
